ACLS Provider Course is designed to train healthcare personnel in emergency cardiac care consistent with the national guidelines as defined by the American Heart Association. Course includes lectures, teaching labs and performance testing. This course requires manager approval. The ACLS Textbook and handouts are to be obtained 4 weeks prior to the course.
This course is designed for the healthcare provider who holds a current American Heart Association ACLS Provider card. This course renews knowledge and skills of ACLS. A study packet must be obtained 2 weeks prior to the course. Students should come prepared for testing.
- Cost: $50 which includes the textbook.
- BHS employees: no charge for the course; $25 for the textbook.
This course presents the nurse with an introduction to the principles and criteria utilized in basic cardiac rhythm interpretation. Content covers a review of Cardiovascular pathophysiology, electro-physiology and current treatments. Emphasis is placed on cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.
This course is designed to present the healthcare provider with an introduction to the basic principles necessary to read a 12 lead EKG. Content will include recognizing patterns of ischemia, injury, infarct and bundle branch blocks.
- Approved for 7.25 Nursing CE hours.
- Cost: $50 for the course.
