EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Medical Plan Options: Baptist offers employees a choice of two medical plan options Baptist Choice and a Consumer Directed Healthcare Plan (CDHP) administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Employees can choose either plan based on their individual needs. Both plan options provide comprehensive coverage including 100% coverage at any Baptist facility, routine preventative covered at 100% and access to all physicians in the BCBS network. There are four tiers in each plan option depending on your personal needs Single, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Child and Family. Both plan options offer Rx coverage at a substantial discount through Blount Pharmacy; up to a either a 30 day supply or a 90-day supply which through mail order. Employees have the option of doing payroll deduction as a form of payment after 90 days of employment.

Dental insurance: is available at a substantial discount and is provided through Delta Dental of Tennessee. Highlights include: Orthodontia coverage up to $1500, 100% coverage for diagnostic and preventative services at no deductible and a $50 deductible for Basic and Major Services only.

Vision insurance: is available at a discount through Superior Vision.

Medical and Dependent Care Spending Accounts: benefit eligible employees may elect annually to contribute pre-tax dollars to a flexible spending account. These pre-tax dollars can be used to reimburse the employee for dependent care and medical expenses and as a result reduce your taxable income.

Life Insurance: is provided for full-time employees at one times the employee's salary through Mutual of Omaha, additional life insurance for the employee, spouse or children is also available for purchase.

Retirement: Baptist contributes 2% of base pay toward retirement and will match $0.50 for each $1.00 the employee contributes up to 4% of base pay. The retirement plans allows employees to save with either tax-deferred or tax-paid contributions. Employees can direct voluntary contributions to Guidestone Financial Services or Valic (Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company), which offers a wide variety of investment options.

Long-term and short-term disability: is available for purchase at group discount rates.

Earned Time: for vacation and holidays is accrued based on years of service. Accrual begins upon employment and can be used after 90 days of employment. Sick Time is accumulated at the rate of 3.69 hours per pay period for full-time employees and 1.85 hours for part-time employees.

Tuition Reimbursement: is generously provided for those pursuing advanced education that is job or healthcare related. Baptist also offers skill development courses through Baptist University.

  • Discounts are given to employees on qualified purchases in the cafeteria and pharmacy.

  • Parking is provided free to all employees on a first come/first served basis.

  • Employee Assistance Program Baptist Health System offers services through an EAP for employees and their families who have problems in areas such as stress, finances, family, legal, alcohol, drugs and health.

  • Voluntary Benefits are provided for those employees who wish to take part. They include: Automobile/Homeowner insurance, AAA Automobile Association, Credit Union, Savings Bonds, Universal Life Insurance Products and YMCA membership.
