The scariest thing about hypertension or high blood pressure is
you may have it and not even realize it. High blood pressure produces
few warning signs and symptoms.
Fortunately, Baptist has a center devoted exclusively to helping
you fight this killer. Located in suite 210 of the Baptist Medical
Tower, the Hypertension Center provides a variety of services to
people who have had high blood pressure for several years and those
who are recently diagnosed. Patients can either be referred by a
physician or referred by themselves. Once patients enter the Hypertension
Center, they receive specialized education about medication and
lifestyle changes that can help control blood pressure. Encouraging
people to stay on track with their treatment program is a major
focus. In addition, the Hypertension Center provides free blood
pressure checks and teaches patients how to take their own blood
pressure. Although medications help control blood pressure levels,
the Hypertension Center recommends exercise and a healthy diet.
The Hypertension Center is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and
Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Located
in the Baptist Medical Tower, Suite 210. For more information, call
632-5959.
